This is an all-timer right here. I love Giratina so much, but is it the best competitively? Not really. However, I still think it’s worth making your first pick if the other powerful legendaries are gone. Ghost-dragon is not the best typing, as there’s no defensive synergy to speak of, but it’s not bad typing by any means. The Telepathy ability gives you immunity to allies’ attacks like Earthquake, so that’s always useful. Of course, you also have Levitate so you’d probably just use that. It already resists Surf and Discharge so yeah, idk why you would use Telepathy lmao. Anywhooo, Giratina is a split attacker, which is kind of neat, since it’s hard to prepare for. Its stats are perfectly symmetrical and its 2 forms swap the offenses for the defenses. 100 and 120, with base form favoring defense and origin form favoring attack. 150 HP and 90 Speed on both. Origin Forme is definitely the better of the two since 150 HP and 100 in both defenses is still super tanky. However, it might be worth it to stick with base form since Origin requires an item. You do get access to Calm Mind so setup is on the table. Having that versatility does make it a good draft league pokemon but it’s nothing crazy.
