Honchkrow will forever live in Murkrow’s shadow as it lacks the broken Prankster ability and is arguably less bulky due to its 52 base defensive stats and no access to eviolite. What it gets in return is a very high 100 base HP and respectable 125 Attack and 105 Special Attack, meaning it can kind of function as a split attacker. Things once again get worse for it though, as its 71 base speed leaves it in the ultimate awkward spot, being way too fast for trick room, but way too slow to function without Tailwind, which it wants to be the one setting. Woof. At the end of the day, what you see is what you get with Honchkrow. If you need a strong flying/dark type, it will get the job done. It won’t go down in one hit and it will deal some good damage with a Knock- oh, sorry, it doesn’t get Knock-Off….uh, it will deal some good damage with a Sucker Punch or….Lash Out? Man… I mean, Brave Bird and and Acrobatics exist, so it’s one of the better flying type attackers out there. Staraptor does all of that better, though. It has the same wide supportive move pool Murkrow has so it’s still good enough but it’s like a 7th rounder.
