Dusknoir and Honchkrow should form a support group for pokemon who are outshined by their pre-evolution. The sad thing is if Eviolite didn’t exist, Dusknoir would be a strict improvement on Dusclops. However, because its defenses are only 5 points higher, the Eviolite bonus FAR outweighs that. But enough about that. Dusknoir can still basically do everything Dusclops can do, 135 in both defenses is amazing and it gets 100 base Attack to boot. If they had just given Dusknoir a good ability, it might be better than Dusclops overall, but nah. You’re stuck with Pressure and Frisk. Use Frisk. Dusknoir’s main mode is still as a Trick Room setter/support, but the extra Attack, combined with some good coverage with the elemental punch moves, and Darkest Lariat (which Dusclops doesn’t get) mean it’s a bit more versatile. Who knows? Maybe in the context of draft league, it could end up outshining Dusclops in overall usefulness. Stranger Things™ have happened. Also Dusknoir is a really cool character in Mystery Dungeon so that makes it the bestest pokemon ever.
