Damn, this Pokemon can really click Rage Powder and die. I joke, mostly. From past seasons, I have learned the value of even just a few good supportive options and how tanky a pokemon can be when fully invested that way. While you aren’t likely to do much damage, 100 base attack is respectable enough to do decent chip to anyone who ignores you. But you aren’t here for damage. Rage powder is good. Redirection is good. It is so good that even classically bad pokemon can be usable with redirection and a touch of bulk. Carnivine isn’t by any means a tank, but the bulk is usable. The other supportive options are pretty limited. I guess you can do something with the ability suppression of Gastro Acid, especially if you have Regigigas on your team. Sleep powder is good, if unreliable. But because Carnivine is widely seen as a bad pokemon you can likely pick it up for a great deal. I predict that Carnivine will be a slight sleeper pick– an immensely usable Pokemon floating somewhere in the later rounds. Even if all it does it spam Rage Powder, that can often be enough to win a game or two.
