Gallade is a powerful physical attacker with high special bulk and a strong Mega form to play with. Its base form is somewhat slow and physically frail, but the mega form shores up the physical defense a bit and hits an impressive 110 speed. It also gains access to Inner Focus which will protect it from Intimidate and Fake Out and, perhaps most importantly, it gets a terrifying 165 attack stat. Base Gallade gets Sharpness which allows it to hit very hard with Psycho Cut and Sacred Sword as well as Justified which can be paired with something like Beat-Up to allow Gallade to stack multiple attack boosts. Gallade is stacked with tons of coverage and support options. Coaching, Disable, Ally Switch, Trick Room, Destiny Bond, Encore, Heal Pulse, Screens, Taunt, Wide Guard, Will-O-Wisp, Icy Wind, and Thunder Wave form an impressive lineup of options and that’s just the less obscure ones. Gallade has excellent offensive coverage with Rock Slide, X-Scissor, Leaf Blade, and more. Shadow Sneak offers a Priority option when needed. Combine this depth of utility with a powerful and fast mega form and you have one of the strongest picks in this draft.
