Purugly is mostly valuable for its quite high speed tier at 112 speed. It has good abilities in Thick Fat and Defiant, but Intimidate (which Defiant is used to counter) isn’t a super common threat in this generation. Purugly gets Fake Out and solid support options for such a fast pokemon. Charm, Fake Tears, Bulldoze, Knock Off, Taunt, and Super Fang to name a few. It can put up a fast Rain Dance or Sunny Day as well. All that said, Purugly’s other stats are pretty awful. It won’t have staying power with its poor bulk, and its attack stat of 82 means it can’t pump out much damage either. This leaves Purugly as a mid-low tier Fake Out support.
