Among the three lake pokemon, Mesprit is closer to a Mew or Celebi than its companions. It has a solid spread of stats with 80 hp and 80 speed paired with 105 in every other stat allowing it to function as a bulky support or offensive threat. It has access to a fairly deep pool of coverage attacks, especially on the special side. Its signature move Mystical Power (shared with the other lake pokemon) is a 70 power 90% accurate psychic type attack that also boosts the user’s Special Attack by one stage, giving Mesprit even more reason to be run as a special attacker over a physical one. The 105 attack can feel a bit of a waste, but can still be used in a pinch if needed for a particular match up. Pure psychic typing is less than great, but Mesprit is still well positioned in a draft league with respectable utility. It can set screens and trick room, skill swap the valuable levitate ability, set up with calm mind, or be used as bulky weather setter with respectable damage output. It is definitely worse than Mew and Celebi, but coming somewhat close means it should be considered a strong mid tier pick.
