Rampardos is a simple pokemon: do big damage. Support is for the weak and defense is for the cowardly; Rampardos embodies the spirit of playing pokemon as a kid where the only number that mattered was power. As such, it is a very difficult pokemon to get working. It is slow. Base 58 speed means tailwind will not help this guy, it needs trick room. But if you can get it inside of ‘trick room’, almost nothing will stand in its way. It has an oddly large list of physical coverage moves including rock blast if you want to run loaded dice (or just like gambling). With 165 base attack it is tied for 10th highest attack of all pokemon. In the limited gen 4 only format, only mega Garchomp beats it and mega Gallade ties it. Simple, straightforward, and powerful.
