I haven’t seen this pokemon get much use competitively, but it’s not bad by any means. Having Follow Me does, indeed, a good pokemon make. But that’s not all Electivire has going for it, in fact, it’s not even really meant to be a support. Electivire is just a solid, fast physical attacker with a pretty sweet ability in Motor Drive and a generous amount of special bulk. Yeah, Electabuzz is bulkier with Eviolite but it doesn’t really matter all that much. Electivire has the added benefit of its ability making it immune to electric type moves, which does allow it to make great use of Follow Me when protecting a flying or water type partner. Seems it parallels Magmortar yet again in that way. Then you also have Bulk Up, Electroweb, Earthquake, Knock Off, Taunt, even Reflect and Light Screen. Maybe it IS a good support! Just seems like a really versatile pick, perfect for draft league. If it’s available in the 4th or especially 5th round, it’s 100% worth picking up, I think it’d make a good addition to almost any team.
